Respect Aspect Ratio / Unlimited Height
The slider’s “responsive” behavior is based on the “Layers Grid Size” values set in the slider’s main settings page:
For this example, the following image will represent our slider:
When “Respect Aspect Ratio” is set to “Off”, the slider’s width will expand and contract responsively, but the height will never increase past the Layers Grid Size height value. However, when the slider’s width contracts responsively, the height will also contract based on the Layers Grid Size values.
For the first example, we’ll pretend the screen size is 1400px wide, and our slider has a Layers Grid Size width of 700, and a height of 300.
When Respect Aspect Ratio = Off, and screen width = 1400px, slider size will be 1400×300
In this example, the slider’s height will never increase past 300px.

When Respect Aspect Ratio = On, and screen width = 1400px, slider size will be 1400×600
In this example, the slider’s height will directly respond to the width’s responsive value. For example, if the slider’s Layers Grid Size width is 700px, and the screen size is 1400px, when the slider’s width increases by 200%, the slider’s height will also increase by 200%.

Which setting is best for your site will largely depend on how you’d like the slider to display. If you never want your images to be cropped out of view, set “Respect Aspect Ratio” to “On”. But if having a “max-height” for your slider is more important, and you’re ok with your images being cropped out of view, set “Respect Aspect Ratio” to “Off”.
This FAQ used a basic image as an example, but slide layers such as text will also increase and decrease in size based on the same equations described above.
