Why updating your WordPress Plugins is important

With great plugin comes great responsibility, which is why we’re so dedicated to supporting our customers here at ThemePunch.  But recently we’ve noticed a trend with some of our customers.  They don’t always want to update..  This peaked our interest, so we took some peyote and went on a long brainstorming session deep in the desert, and realized that maybe people don’t want to update because they’re afraid of something breaking.  And when you think about it, this is a perfectly reasonable idea.  But unfortunately, it’s still bad.

Did you know that some of the most popular plugins used in WordPress have been hacked at some point in time?  It’s true.  But did you also know that usually the only websites effected are ones that haven’t updated their plugins?  Also a true fact.

So update your plugins yo!  It’s good for your clients.  It’s good for you.  And it’s just good for the world in general.
